Katie, Tim & Cale Nester...

...would love it if you would follow along as we record our adoption journey. We feel blessed to be called to adopt a son from Ethiopia!
About our journey:
- We requested "either" gender, 0-18 months.
- We received our referral of Megersa on Nov 5, 2009; he was 2 months old.
- Megersa's name is pronounced "Meh-gur-sah."
- Our case was submitted on Dec 18, 2009 and our court date was Jan 27, 2010. We were fortunate to pass court on the first try!
- Tim's mom and I left for Ethiopia on March 8, 2010 for an Embassy appointment of March 10, 2010. We passed!
- Megersa met the rest of his family in the US 3.13.10.
- When we re-adopt him, his full legal name will be Megersa Jace Nester.

Guardian

I got the best Christmas present today.
It came late, but seriously, it is THE BEST.
I am looking at it now, and I can hardly keep from crying.
Crying from the sentiment of it. It's a beautiful thing.
Are you curious yet? :)

This is what my Mother & Father-in-Law got me:
This is the "Guardian" Willow Tree Figurine.

I own a few other Willow Tree figurines which I also love, but this one just touched my heart SO much this time. I wish there were several angles available to show you, because when you swirl the figurine around you get a better idea of how protected the baby is:
Her back is arched in, her arms are wrapped tight. Her knees protect her arms. Baby's face is nuzzled in her neck.
The Mommy will not let anything happen to her baby.
THIS is how I feel about Megersa.

On the little card that comes with the figurine it says:
Guardian - Love and protect thee, forever.

And I will.

Honestly, this small figurine has stirred up so much emotion and I feel like while words sometimes fail me, the "guardian" can say it all.

(I only wish the baby's face was brown. :)
